9 Easy Ways to Fix Zoom Error Code 10004

Zoom, a highly popular video conferencing tool, allows you to organize or participate in online webinars, chats, meetings, and interviews for your personal or professional needs. Sometimes, you come across a situation in which you face issues, such as sound not working and screen sharing problems. It can stop you from having a seamless Zoom experience.  

Zoom error code 10004 is a common error that most of you face. It usually happens when you try to open the Zoom app for the very first time after its installation on your device, such as PC and smartphone. You face this error due to zoom server issues, internet connection problems, Zoom client auto-update error, or 3rd-party applications interface. Here are some simple methods to fix Zoom error code 10004:

Check your device 

Step 1: Open a web browser, for example Google Chrome. 

Step 2: In the search bar, type status.zoom.us and hit the Enter key. 

Step 3: Keep watching on the screen. You will see a message stating All Systems Are Operational, if all the features and systems of the Zoom app are working well.

Step 4: Scroll down the options to see the results, like Zoom Meetings or Zoom Support do not contain the error code 10004. You need to click on the Plus icon to see the error code. 

Clear Zoom cache and cookies 

Step 1: Exit or close your Zoom app if it is open. 

Step 2: Press the Windows and R keys together to open the Run app on your PC. 

Step 3: In the search bar, type AppData and tap on OK. 

Step 4: Launch the Zoom folder.

Step 5: Locate the folder named Data and delete it. 

Step 6: Open your Zoom app again as you delete the app data. 

Let the Zoom app bypass the Windows Defender Firewall 

Step 1: Press the Windows key and the R key at a time to open the Run app on your PC. 

Step 2: Tap on OK after typing firewall.cpl in the box next to Open. 

Step 3: Choose the option, Allow An App or Feature Through Windows Defender Firewall.

Step 4: Tap on Change Settings. 

Step 5: Check the boxes against Public and Private after finding Zoom Video Conferencing.

Step 6: Tap on Allow Other Applications if you do not find Zoom Video Conferencing. After that, click on Browse. 

Step 7: Press the OK button after searching for the Zoom folder. 

Step 8: Now, let private and public networks access the Zoom Video Conferencing.

Update your Zoom app manually 

Step 1: Launch the Zoom app on your device (PC or smartphone).

Step 2: Go to the profile icon after navigating to the right top corner of your device screen. 

Step 3: Choose Check For Updates to know the available updates. 

Step 4: Download and install the updates if there are any updates. 

Step 5: Restart your Zoom app. 

Examine the internet connection status  

Step 1: Go to the Windows Settings and choose network and Internet. 

Step 2: Now, move to the Status tab, which is on the left, to check your internet connection status. 

Step 3: Find the Network Troubleshooting option by scrolling down the options under the Status screen if you notice any network-related issues. With its diagnostic tool, Windows will find and sort out the network issue you are facing. 

Step 4: Check the internet speed and restart your internet device if the internet speed is low or network signal strength is weak. 

Step 5: Get in touch with your internet service provider if you cannot solve your internet connectivity issues yourself. 

Reinstall the Zoom app

Step 1: Press the Windows key with the R key. It will open the Run prompt. 

Step 2: Tap on OK after typing in appwiz.cpl in the Run prompt box. 

Step 3: Right-click on the Zoom application and choose Uninstall. 

Step 4: Wait until the uninstallation process ends. 

Step 5: Now, visit the official website of Zoom and click on Download to reinstall the app on your computer. 

Restart your device 

Step 1: Click on the Start button, and then, the Power button.

Step 2: Choose Restart from the displayed options to restart your Windows PC. For restarting your Mac desktop or laptop, you can turn the Power button off, wait for a while, and turn it on again.  

Get in touch with the Zoom support team

Step 1: Email, send a WhatsApp message, or call the Zoom support team. 

Step 2: Mention the error code you are viewing on your device.

Step 3: Provide the requisite details, such as your name and device if required. 

Step 4: Follow what the representative instructs you. 

Use a PC optimizer tool 

Step 1: Download and install a PC optimizer of your choice. 

Step 2: Open the tool as the installation process ends. 

Step 3: Scan the hardware. The scan results will display corrupted files if it detects. 

Step 4: Wait for a while. 

Step 5: Restart your device as the scan is complete. After that, open the Zoom app.
